‘Hour of Code’ Makes Programming Accessible for Teachers and Students

The Hour of Code, a global movement ending stigmas in coding, continues to make an impact in communities and schools. Over 100,000 events have been registered in over 180 countries, according to hourofcode.com. The program introduces students to the basics of computer programming through fun, interactive lessons.

Programs are divided up based on the grade level of the student participating. You can also use the websites filter feature to find the right program for your classroom.

Each activity provides a lesson plan for teachers, the recommended level of experience for the student participating, which classroom technology will support the program, and the activity type. This makes it accessible for any teacher looking to use it in the classroom.
