“Providing cutting-edge training requires the acquisition of advanced equipment and tools, and this year’s Enhancement Grant funding is essential in generating the funds to purchase equipment and supplies to support these programs,” said Kevin Thurman, executive director of development. “Students will receive hands-on instructional training in a variety of industrial trade fields at the ITC, including machine tool, carpentry and construction, and industrial maintenance.

Funding raised will also be utilized to support career and tech programs such as Allied Health, Law Enforcement, and HVAC/R.

“Because Mineral Area College provides a quality, affordable education, it has changed the course of countless students’ lives and strengthened the local workforce by preparing highly skilled and employable graduates. MAC’s commitment to educational excellence is dependent on providing a curriculum built upon industry standards and staying up to date on rapidly changing technology. These fundamental keys ensure that MAC graduates have the best opportunities for success. “We have been able to purchase nearly $200,000 worth of up-to-date equipment, curriculum, and training programs annually. These advances could not be possible without the generous giving of donors from our community.  We are optimistic that the new Industry and Technology Center will provide a significant return on investment to the community in terms of creating adeptly trained individuals who will be ready to work in key industry areas.”
