AI Scholars Future Ready

As the use of artificial intelligence increases, school Superintendent Alexandra Estrella was invited to share her expertise on AI, technical careers and STEM on a panel at a recent conference for the STEM Leadership Alliance. AI Scholars Future Ready.

“As we plan for the future, we know AI will be an inherent part of daily life, and we need to prepare our scholars with the resources we have now to learn how to innovate, discover and reimagine so they can best utilize that technology however it may be implemented,” Estrella said in a statement.

Revolutionize STEM Education

The national alliance “aims to disrupt and revolutionize STEM education to shape tomorrow’s workforce,” says its vision statement, referring to learning about science, technology, engineering and math. It works through “a collaboration of the major STEM organizations, education leaders and experts, colleges/universities, businesses, non-profits, and foundations.”

In the statement, the school district said adaptation is important in education.

“One of the key components of Norwalk Public Schools’ strategic plan is the focus on preparing scholars to be future ready,” the statement said. “To achieve this goal, the district is rethinking what is being taught and what our scholars are learning in the classroom so they are equipped with the critical analytical skills necessary to pivot in a rapidly advancing world.”
