News and Information for Technical Educators

AI, Technology And The Traditional Education System

Together, the technological tools are bringing a reform that is transforming the role of educators. Primarily, AI is integrating with educational tools that help develop skills and testing systems and leaving a progressive mark on the industry as the efforts bear fruits to the mentors and students alike. Technology and AI are joining hands and serving as an educational solution that is in process of developing and will eventually be the spine of a new education structure, robustly encouraging new career paths and boosting one’s professional growth in the coming times. According to Market Research Engine, the growth graph of global AI in the education market will reach $5.80 billion by 2025 at a compound annual growth rate of 45 per cent.

Marking the end of rote learning

Artificial intelligence is changing incumbent industries including the world of education and while doing so, it is releasing society from the conventional structure that emphasizes solely on theoretical learning. Adding new methods of learning and including audio-visual as a major tool in the teaching process, artificial intelligence puts rote learning out of focus. It rather aims for students to comprehend the concept to the best of their abilities and retain the well-understood portions while offering assignments and activities, instead of influencing them to mug up. It further helps in honing cognitive development and thus instating a massive change in the system.

Customizing learning on a need-felt basis

Creating different content for different grades on the same platform increases efficacy and enables the teachers to create, engage, teach and manage under one common umbrella of the portal. It further customizes the content based on the comprehension level of different standards and provides them with smart modules that are segmented in chunks to prevent students from getting overwhelmed. Thus, the customization of educational syllabi in summary and highlighted content type instigate students to focus, further leading to utilization of their highest potential and supporting their career growth.

Instant help on the way

Conventional learning structure is all about in-person learning and help. However, it has been observed that when students grow curious about something or have a query– they tend to create a mental block, preventing their potential to flourish and obstructing their career growth. Artificial intelligence contributes to educational reform in many ways, including a chatbot. Chatbots provide assistance round the clock, 24×7, helping students to resolve their concerns in a matter of seconds and unleashing their true potential.

Secure examinations on fingertips

Unlike conventional ways of teaching, the technological progression enables students to learn and give examinations from home. Shuffling and creating a differentiated learning environment, the applications produce random sets of questions, minimizing the scope to cheat and preventing human errors in the questionnaire as they smoothen the road for teachers.

Outcome-based learning

Outcome-based education, as the name suggests, often revolves around the concept of delivering goals in the process of learning. By the end of the curriculum/ course, each student (ideally) should attain the objective they started their journey with. Focusing on specific outcomes. This concept is being put into use in recent times, especially with the help of artificial intelligence. For instance, the student-centric approach of outcome-based learning blending with varied activities designed for expanding students’ mental horizons and hone their skills is serving as a helpful tool.

The concept, when aligned with AI-supported equipment and features, is working on expanding opportunities, exceeding expectations that result in bringing out the highest potential and effective learning with numerous ways of educating young minds coming into play. The design down and deliver up model is outlining results and enhancing students’ performance by organizing their curriculum and aligning it seamlessly with their assessments and activities.

In times to come

Artificial intelligence has lately been in talks when discussing blended learning and creating a hybrid education system. It is expected to surpass conventional techniques and methods and collaborate with students as well as teachers to establish a new legacy. It is taking up administrative roles and proving to be time efficient for the educators and eventually delivering the highest potential for students’ career growth.

By leveraging the best attributes of technology and teachers, the vision for AI in education is one where they work together for the best outcome for students. Since the new-day students will need to work in a future where AI is the reality, it’s important that our educational institutions expose students to and use the technology.
