GE Aerospace Hiring Engineers

In line with GE Aerospace’s goal to support and enhance existing programs and create new technologies, the company is taking on almost a thousand new experienced engineers. Specialists are also needed for the advanced military engine program, and the Revolutionary Innovation for Sustainable Engines (RISE) technology demonstrator program by CFM International designed to create engines with over 20% better fuel efficiency and 20% lower CO2 emissions than the most efficient engines available.

Despite having a greater need for more experienced professionals, the company is also welcoming engineers at all career stages to help with its aviation vision. The GE Aerospace Foundation has invested $20 million in the Next Engineers program which increases diversity in young engineers. Since it started in 2021, almost 18,000 students have accessed the program.

GE Aerospace Aviation Investments

In March 2024, GE Aerospace announced that it would put $650 million towards its supply chain and manufacturing facilities to increase quality and production. In 2023, along with customer and partner funding, the company invested roughly $2.3 billion in research and development for aviation advancement.

As well as hiring engineers to bring expertise and innovation to its technologies, the company’s investments will continue in 2024, with 6–8% of its revenue and more external funding going towards the cause.

GE Aerospace’s vice president of engineering, Mohamed Ali, highlighted the company’s position as a world leader in flight innovation, and reiterated that the company is avidly focusing on reducing emissions with the help of “advanced materials, manufacturing processes, and supercomputing capabilities.”

“Throughout our history, GE Aerospace has been at the forefront of innovation,” Mohamed Ali, vice president of engineering for GE Aerospace, said in a release. “Today, we’re entering a new era of technology development focused on reducing emissions with new architectures, advanced materials, manufacturing processes, and supercomputing capabilities revolutionizing what’s possible.

“Now as a standalone public company with innovation at the core of what we do, we look forward to welcoming more engineers to help us invent the future of flight,” Ali added.

The company powers commercial companies globally and the U.S. military air fleet with electric power systems and advanced avionics. The vice president of engineering at GE Aerospace Defense & Systems, Darin DiTommaso, added that these new technologies and capabilities lay the foundation for future generations and, with the help of these new engineers, the company can stay on top of the game.
